THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED GALA CELEBRATION WILL BE HELD FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MELBOURNE
MELBOURNE, Australia — Organisers of the 6th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia), supported by Subzero Wolf, today revealed the nominees that have been shortlisted to receive honours at this year’s highly anticipated gala celebration.
The latest edition of the prestigious international awards programme by PropertyGuru Group (NYSE: PGRU) will be presented for the first time within Australia during a black-tie gala dinner and ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on Friday, 13 October 2023. Attendees expected at the event include senior executives from shortlisted nominees, and partners such as Realestate.com.au, Australia’s No. 1 property site.
The country’s most exemplary developers and projects, which have specialised in cross-border investment between Australia and Asia, will be recognised in 42 categories, making this the biggest edition of the programme in Australia.
Leading with 18 nominations is Aqualand, nominated for a wide range of honours including those for its mixed-use developments Aura and Blue, as well as its historic apartment development, The Revy at Darling Island.
In recognition of his unwavering dedication to enhancing Australian communities through exceptional projects and philanthropic endeavours, Shangjin Lin, founder and group managing director of Aqualand Australia, is due to receive the golden statuette for Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year from the editorial team of Property Report by PropertyGuru, the official magazine.
The developments and designs shortlisted for the 2023 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) encompass a variety of residential and commercial projects that include the country’s best apartments, housing, townhouses, smart homes, student accommodations, and senior living spaces. Many of the shortlisted projects exemplify the finest real estate in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, raising the standard for Australia’s dynamic property sector.
Luisant Queensberry Pty Ltd. received multiple nominations for its townhouse development Queensberry St. while the nominations for Mark Moran Group include the senior living development known as The Garden at Warrawee.
Sunkin Property Group garnered various nominations for the apartment development Highett Common. MRCB International and its subsidiary MRCB Australia also received a variety of nominations, including those for their lifestyle development 26 Vista. Sunsuria Australia and Verdant Property Group, along with Axe Architects Pty Ltd, are meanwhile nominated for the apartment development One Grant Crescent.

The shortlist of nominees was determined by an independent panel of judges comprising Lui Violanti, chairperson of the Awards in Australia and regional manager for Western Australia, Inhabit Group; Benson Zhou, director and divisional head for Asia Market in Victoria, Savills Melbourne; Edward Haysom, general director, Haysom Architects Vietnam; Ivan Lam, head of international business, Charter Keck Cramer; Jessica Liew, principal, Plus Architecture; Karl Fu, partner for Asian Markets, Winning Commercial; Peter Li, general manager, Plus Agency; Richard Newling Ward, director, Bayleyward; and Steven Yu, founder and CEO, Valorton Group.
HLB Mann Judd – HLB Australasia supervised the selection process over the last several months under the guidance of Josh Chye, partner and head of tax, helping to make the process fair, transparent, and credible.
Main country winners of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) will be eligible to advance to the 18th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final on Friday, 8 December in Bangkok, Thailand where they will compete for honours against their peers from Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as India, Japan and China.
