    LEADING PROPERTY MARKETPLACES GATHER THE COUNTRY’S FINEST DEVELOPERS FOR A NIGHT OF CELEBRATION 

    • Mah Sing Group Berhad is named Developer of the Year, among other titles
    • Ten companies receive the People’s Choice Awards, as voted by property seekers throughout the country
    • Tan Sri (Sir) Francis Yeoh Sock Ping PSM, KBE, executive chairman of YTL Corporation Berhad, accepts the Malaysia Real Estate Personality of the Year award

    KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — 29 November 2022

    PropertyGuru Group (NYSE: PGRU), Southeast Asia’s leading PropTech company, today unveiled the winners of the 9th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia in partnership with iProperty.com.my, supported by Kohler and Desjoyaux Pools.

    The gala celebration, held at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the official venue of the Awards, presented the nation’s finest developers and projects across 55 titles, as chosen by the country’s most trusted property advisors and the public.

    Mah Sing Group Berhad won Developer of the Year, the highest honour of 2022. The company also won titles for Best Affordable Homes Developer and Best Developer (Central Malaysia), in addition to Special Recognitions for CSR and in ESG and Sustainable Design and Construction.

    Hailed the Best Developer (Southern Malaysia), Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad also won three Special Recognitions as well as two titles for Bandar Sri Sendayan: Best Mega Township Development and Township Development of the Year. Clover @ Resort Residence, a new residential project by the company, won Best Lifestyle Landed Development.

    WM Senibong Sdn Bhd was named Best Township Developer, supported by wins for multiple projects: Emerald Business Park, Crest@Austin; Lagoon Residences; and Ruby Terrace, Crest@Austin.

    Other winners in the Developer categories were GuocoLand (Malaysia) Berhad, named Best Lifestyle Developer and honoured for the project Emerald 9; KCC Realty (Best Commercial Developer), also honoured for the project RiverCity Sky Residence; and CPI Land (Best Boutique Developer).

    KL Wellness City Sdn Bhd received the title of Consumer Game Changer while SkyWorld Development Bhd was honoured as Visionary Developer. 

    Sime Darby Property was another big winner at the celebration. The company garnered wins for multiple projects, namely East57, KL East, which won two titles that include Landed Development of the Year; Lot 15, Subang Jaya City Centre (SJCC); The Residences III at The Glades, Putra Heights; The Serenade at The Glades, Putra Heights; and XME Business Park, Nilai Impian. 

    An independent panel of trusted leaders and experts provided their unbiased perspectives of the competitors during the Live Judging Days in July 2022. The panel of judges consist of Dato’ Sr. Lau Wai Seang, chairperson of the Awards in Malaysia and president of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM): 2017-2018; Chris Tia, vice-chairperson of the Awards in Malaysia and principal and managing partner of Tia & Noordin; Blaine Robert, CEO and creative director, Blaine Robert Design; Christophe Vicic, chief growth officer, JLL Property Services (M) Sdn Bhd; Dr. Daniele Gambero, president, Malaysia Proptech Association (MPA); Ho Chin Soon, chairman, Ho Chin Soon Research; Sr Engad Ravana, principal, ER Consult; Datuk Ar.     Property seekers in Malaysia also had the opportunity to select the 10 finest developers in the country. Results of the People’s Choice Awards were independently verified by PwC Malaysia.

    The editorial team of Property Report by PropertyGuru, the official magazine of the Awards, continued their annual tradition of choosing the recipient of the Malaysia Real Estate Personality of the Year award. This year, the prestigious title was awarded to Tan Sri (Sir) Francis Yeoh Sock Ping PSM, KBE, executive chairman of YTL Corporation Berhad.
